2009-02-07 First Photos from My 5d MkII : I was at Costa Chica Mexican Restaurant in New Brunswick. Some of the best Mexican food to be had in New Jersey. Totally authentic, when I go there the feeling is the same as if you had hust traveled to Mexico and were sitting down to dinner. The owner is from Oaxaca as are most of the employees, I've actually been in his hometown on my journeys. So I clicked a few photos on the priority setting. The camera picked an ISO of 3200. Considering the ISO speed all I can say is Sham WOW! as I look at these images at 300% magnification. Yes there is some noise but ISO 3200. I can't wait to see what it does at ISO 100.

2008-01-12 Skylands NJ BMW Riders Annual Dinner Party : I figured I'd add this in. Anyone that wants the photos of them removed please send me an email asking for this to happen. Prints from Smugmug are about the best you can buy anywhere which is one of the reasons I use Smugmug. Prints are delivered by mail generally within a week of the order. Prints are not watermarked (the gray printing on the bottom right you see online) but are back printed so you can figure out what print you bought later. You may look at the standard print prices here, http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog.mg. I'm sure you'll agree they are about the same as you pay for a print anywhere, perhaps a penny or two higher. In order for Smugmug to allow me to know which photos you selected so I can re-touch them I have to add a token to the price. In this case I added $0.25 plus 15%, on an 8X10 this comes to whopping $0.62 net profit for me (smugmug charges 20% commission on the total cost for administrative purposes). Please do not hesitate to check the prices of a print after you have added it to your cart against the standard prices. This isn't about me getting rich or even paying for dinner. It's about me knowing which print you selected to buy so I can retouch it which takes from 10 to 60 minutes depending on how much work i think the photo needs. If this token is a problem for you financially let me know what photo you want and in what sizes so I can retouch it properly. I'll then remove the token markup to the pricing for that photo.
